MICHELIN PILOT SPORT CUP 2

Tyre description
The tread of the Pilot® Sport Cup 2 Connect (240) features an asymmetric design and utilizes Michelin's Bi-Compound Technology, with different rubber compounds on the tread's outboard and inboard regions. The expansive outboard shoulder features a High Molecular Chain tread rubber that has been specially designed to deliver exceptional grip on curves, especially in tight corners. Michelin's Track Longevity Technology 2.0 reinforces the outboard shoulder with a special, abrasion-resistant rubber to enhance endurance and longevity when used in high performance driving. The notched center ribs and inboard shoulder utilize a high-silica compound with functionalized elastomers that help deliver excellent wet traction and braking performance. Three wide, circumferential grooves work with deep, lateral notches to evacuate water from the footprint to help resist hydroplaning.
The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts with a spirally-wound, hybrid aramid and nylon reinforcement. The belt package utilizes Michelin's Wavy Summit Architecture to strategically increase pattern stiffness for improved handling and stability under aggressive inputs. The Pilot® Sport Cup 2 Connect (240) has a polyester casing that combines ride comfort with responsive handling, and the bead is strengthened with a high modulus rubber compound that increases the tire's lateral stiffness and delivers sporty responsiveness, as well as precision steering.
A special mold tooling process uses nano laser technology engraving to produce MICHELIN® Premium Touch Technology, a process that has made it possible to create more contrast on sections of the outer sidewall using micro-geometry techniques that absorb light. The geometry of the texture permits variable contrast to create shades of black that have a velvety feel.

Tyre warranty
DTM Wheel and Tyre Ltd are an importer and distributor of Tyres in New Zealand. DTM Wheel and Tyre Ltd provide a Pro-Rata minimum warranty on all tyres supplied by DTM in New Zealand. This warranty covers any resulting manufacturing defect in any such tyre product for a period of 3 years from the date of manufacture.
DTM Wheel and Tyre warrant that they will provide a pro-rata adjustment on qualifying tyre’s which it determines have been removed prematurely from service for warrantable reasons, provided that the tyre has a minimum of 1.5mm tread depth remaining across the entire tread width.
For the warranty period, the cost of replacement is pro-rata by crediting the owner for the percentage of legal tread depth remaining.
DTM Wheel & Tyre’s Warranty on qualifying tyres covers conditions that require a tyre to be removed from service that are within the manufacturers' control of raw materials or quality of workmanship, and therefore excludes the following examples of service related issues outside the control of the manufacturer. These and any other service related issue are not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Uneven wear from “under and/or over inflation”
- Uneven wear from “improper tyre balance”
- Wheel alignment related shoulder wear or feathering
- Premature shoulder wear caused by a lack of or insufficient positional rotation
- Road Hazard related issues including punctures, cuts, impact damage, scrapes and/or bruises
- Overloading of the tyre beyond its design parameters
- Tyre failure due to under-inflation / puncture / driven on flat
- Racing, off-roading, damage/use of snow chains
The “Pro-rata Replacement” of any tyre determined to fall under this warranty and be accepted for a claim may, due to product lifespans, require replacement with an alternative pattern. This warranty covers only the affected tyre and does not extend to additional tyres that may be required due to the above, or cover resulting labour charges which are the responsibility of the owner.
DTM Wheel and Tyre does not extend warranty to any tyre product which have been distributed in New Zealand by any other party.
